Signs You've Been Touring Too Long....
Hello there all, its been awhile since I've written in this thing. So here I am in Wilmington, Ohio after a night at our favorite place to play, Joes Java. This acoustic tour has been a real treat for me and the fans that have been coming out. I've brought a storytellers vibe to each night sharing the stories behind the songs. Ive been playing a few new tunes that even the boys havent learned yet, and they have been getting a great response. There are only a handful of shows left on this acoustic tour then begins the rock again in June. Eddie and I have been out here touring in his wifes toyota echo, which btw gets 42mpg, and its kinda strange not seeing our old white van and trailer. I miss having the boys on stage with me, but its kinda keeps me on my toes to be up on stage alone. Well I will leave you with some signs that you know you have been touring too long...
-You wait for your drummer(who isnt with you) to count the song off before you begin playing a song
-you think any food item over $1 is overpriced
-you are confused when your toiletries are not travel size
-you get excited about finding a walmart near your hotel
-you cant find the way to your own house without yahoo directions
-you say thank you and goodnight before you exit any room
-you think the word breakfast should be preceeded by the words free continental
-youre lead singer cant stand the sound of his own singing
-you wake up frantically before noon because you think you need to check out of your own house
-when your bass player automatically reaches for fries on a tray that arent there, where your drummer would normally sit at lunch time
-When you refer to the city nashville as its own state, and begin looking for it in the atlas
-when going to a coffeeshop, book store or a mall is the most fun you had all day
